Does Tully Dental accept dental insurance?At Tully Dental, we do not participate with dental insurance companies. However, we do encourage you to bring your insurance information with you. We will be happy to provide you with an ADA dental insurance form for you to submit, or we would be happy to submit the form for you. Please remember that you are responsible for payment at the time of service. We allow a 5% credit for those who choose to pay with cash or check. We also accept VISA, Mastercard, or Discover credit cards for payment. How will pregnancy affect my oral health?Gingivitis (gum disease) may occur more frequently during pregnancy due to a rise in the body's hormone levels. These increased hormones exaggerate the way gum tissue responds to plaque. A woman can decrease the chances of gingivitis by brushing and flossing and continuing with regular dental visits throughout her pregnancy. The optimal time for elective treatment is from the fourth through sixth month of pregnancy. What can I do about sensitive teeth?There are effective treatments for tooth sensitivity. Initially, treatment involves ruling out other possible dental problems such as a cavity, tooth grinding or a dying or fractured tooth. Treatment also includes using over-the-counter desensitizing toothpaste for two to six weeks. Potassium nitrate--containing toothpaste that carry the American Dental Association Seal of Acceptance are good choices. If further treatment is necessary, we may choose to apply topical fluoride or an oxilate treatment. Another effective treatment is bonding, which involves applying a tooth-colored plastic or porcelain material to the tooth surface to seal the exposed dentim or root surface. If you have sensitive teeth give our office a call to discuss your options. What type of anesthetic is used at Tully Dental?Tully Dental uses local anesthetic. This form of anesthetic is by far the most common form of dental anesthetic. You will receive an injection of a short acting (one hour), long acting (three hours), or extra long acting (up to six hours) anesthetic.
